Schroeder was chosen alongside Ben Bernanke and Hillary Clinton as one of the "People to Watch in 2008" by BusinessWeek.Schroeder worked as a certified public accountant at Ernst & Young from 1980 to 1991. Until 1993 she was project manager with the Financial Accounting Standards Board. She joined Morgan Stanley in 2000, after working at several broker-dealer firms. Schroeder was ranked the #1 property-casualty insurance analyst two years in a row by Institutional Investor. In addition, she was voted one of Business Insurance's Rising Stars in 2002.Schroeder's book The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life was released on September 29, 2008. The book, a #1 New York Times bestseller, was written with the cooperation of Warren Buffett.The Snowball was named Amazon’s Top Business Book of 2008.
