Anotace
The present study is an attempt to describe the nature of contemporary theories of Expressionism. The author seeks to relate the particular nature of these theories to the actual historical situation of contemporary apologists, and then proceeds to characterize the central issues involved. This examination of the main tenets of contemporary expressionist theory is followed by a critique of this theory in which the author attempts to show its limitations with regard to modern studies of Expressionism.
